Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA) annouces that effective December 14, 2009 the ticker symbol of its ADR that trades on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) will change to “BBVA” from “BBV”.

The move is consistent with the SEC’s approval in 2008 of the National Market System Plan that allows companies listed on a registered exchange to trade with one to five character stock symbols.
